Burgers, hot dogs, chips - there are all sorts of things you can put ketchup on, and according to people with sparkling homes across the globe, that list even includes the bathroom sink.
Just crack open the bottle, squeeze on the sauce and sink your teeth into that cold ceramic. Delicious. Okay, no, please don't try that at home, because ketchup isn't used on the sink for eating.
The sauce isn't exactly something you usually find in among your cleaning supplies, but internet users have started to swear by it after the hack was shared online in a popular Facebook group.

According to numerous people with newly-shiny taps and plugholes, ketchup is the perfect product to use on stubborn stains including rust, calcium build-up and black scum stains.
Many people have shared before-and-after pictures showing the incredible transformation their homes have undergone after whacking a bit of ketchup on, and Facebook users can't believe the results.
Writing on the Mums Who Clean Facebook page, one user wrote: "Thanks to this group I learnt the tomato sauce around the tap trick. OMG it’s amazing mine was terrible. Left it overnight. I just put it all around the base, left it overnight and rinsed it off and cleaned as normal. It was perfect.”

Another commented: "Whoever came up with the tomato sauce tap hack, you’re a genius. Have tried everything, and nothing worked like this. No scrubbing, no effort. I’m blown away.”
DIY website The Spruce explains exactly why ketchup is such a good cleaning agent, as well as being delicious, stating that no matter the brand, 'almost all ketchup recipes contain vinegar and the acetic acid in vinegar works as a mild cleaner to cut through different types of grime'.
It's not just the vinegar in the ketchup that can cut through dirt, though, as even the tomatoes used in the products contain a bit of citric acid like lemons that can aid in cleaning.

There are a number of uses for ketchup beyond providing a good friend for chips, and The Spruce recommends the product for cleaning silver, removing food that's been burned on to cookers and polishing copper kitchenware.
You can even take the sauce outside to clean up your car, as it can be used on headlights and bumpers to get rid of bugs that have met their demise by getting in your way.
With all of those uses, ketchup is definitely a condiment worth investing in - and you can still stick some on your burgers when you're done with all that cleaning.
