A fertility expert has put a stop to Kourtney Kardashian's bizarre 'swallowing' theory to improve her chances of conceiving a baby with Travis Barker.
In the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney and Travis revealed that a practitioner had recommended some rather eccentric techniques to improve their fertility rates.
Since the new season launched, Kourtney has been open about her difficulty conceiving.

Just last week, Kourtney had shared with viewers that her latest egg retrieval hadn't gone as well as they had hoped.
While her doctor had been able to retrieve an egg, it didn't make it to the embryo stage. The news sent Kourtney back to her OBGYN's office to check on her follicles.
A week later, Kourt revealed that she and Travis had started a new 'Panchakarma cleanse' in the hopes of improving their fertility rates.
The cleanse required the couple to abstain from sex, coffee, and exercise.

On top of that, Kourtney explained that she was told 'the thing that would help it was drinking [Travis's semen], like, four times a week'.
Travis then joked, "I love this doctor," thrilled with the practitioner's recommendation.
Fans were horrified when they heard the couple discuss the graphic fertility plan.
"I’m SCREAMING what doctor told Kourtney to drink Travis’ c*m 3-4 times A WEEK" asked one disturbed viewer.
A second tweeted: "The doctor told Kourtney to drink Travis’s WHAT?!?! I DIED OF LAUGHTER AND WHEEZED SO HARD".

And a third suspicious fan wrote: "So, a doctor told Kourtney to drink Travis' c*m 4 times a week? Did Travis pay him for this advice?"
But is there any truth to Kourtney's practitioner's advice? Medical Director at TFP Fertility Group Dr James Hopkisson says no.
Speaking to Metro, he revealed: "In the last 30 years of working in fertility and gynaecology, I have read no mainstream research that has advocated the drinking of sperm to be useful in helping with pregnancy."

So perhaps it's best to hold off on trying our Travis and Kourtney's new trick for now.
While ingesting semen is highly unlikely to have any impact on fertility, certain changes to the diet and make a significant impact.
For men, Dr Hopkisson recommended 'supplements such as Vit C, zinc, selenium, and L-carnitene' for fertility and sterility.

Meanwhile, prior to conceiving, 'all women should be on Folic acid and Vitamin D to minimise the risks of spina bifida and rickets'.
Kourtney is already mum to her three children Mason, 12, Penelope, 9, and Reign, 7, with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, while Travis is father to Landon, 18, and Alabama, 16, and step-father to Atiana, 23, from his previous marriage to Shanna Moakler.
