Last week saw the first Islander leave the Love Island villa just a few episodes into the latest season.
However, Liam Llewellyn, 22, was not ‘dumped’ from the island and instead chose to leave on his own terms for an important reason. Watch here:
Now, the Master’s student has taken to Instagram to reiterate why he cut his journey in the villa short, and reflected on the decision.

He said: “Just finished my bit on After Sun so I thought it would be a mint time to jump online to say how appreciative I am for all the love and support from before I even entered the villa, during the villa and obviously everything post villa backing the decision I made.”
“I was in there 10% and I wasn’t comfortable being in there at 10%,” he admitted, adding that he wanted to be on the show at 100%.
“If I couldn’t bring 100, I didn’t want to be there, so yeah, made the right decision and people are backing it all the way and yeah I respect it also. Thank you all.”

Prior to leaving the villa, Liam gathered his fellow contestants around the fire pit to explain his reasoning for cutting his time short.
He said: “Obviously we all came here for the same reason but I haven’t really been feeling I have been giving 100% Liam.
"I know what 100% Liam looks like and I am miles off that.”
He added: “I’ve been thinking long and hard, this isn’t a spur of the moment thing.

“I have made the decision that I am going to leave the villa. It has been a breeze, and absolute ball.”
Reacting to Liam's departure, fellow contestant Andrew said: “We all love him, we are all going to see him when he gets out 100%. It sucks but he has to do what he has to do.”
Tasha added: “I absolutely adore Liam and I hope he does find someone special one day.”

Fans have also praised Liam for setting a good example by putting his mental health first.
One wrote: “Seeing a lad that young make a decision to benefit his own mental health over tv exposure is so refreshing, good on ya liam [sic].”
A second added: “Liam said Mental health first and we luv that [sic].”
A third wrote: Can we just praise Liam for putting himself and his mental health before this show. This man is an absolute gem and I don’t think he knows just how much we love him, even if it’s not 100% him.”
A fourth added: “The way Liam left to look after his mental health and well-being he literally is my favourite islander of all time.”
