Keke Palmer's boyfriend Darius Jackson has stood up for himself after publicly shaming the outfit she wore to an Usher concert.

Jackson, who shares a child with Palmer, came under fire for the comment he shared alongside a video of the actor at the Las Vegas concert yesterday (5 July).

The clip showed Palmer enjoying her time at the gig as she was serenaded by Usher, who approached her seat and sang directly to her.

She was dressed in a long, sheer black dress which had long sleeves and was patterned with dots, which she paired with a black thong bodysuit underneath.

In a comment alongside the post, Jackson wrote: "It's the outfit tho.. you a mom."

Jackson was quickly met with criticism from Twitter users for the weighted comment, with one arguing: "As a new mom it would be better for you to encourage her as she is building that confidence back."

Another responded: "Don’t police women’s clothing choices."

Others slammed Jackson for the way he decided to raise his issue with Palmer's outfit, choosing to do it in public instead of in private.

"It’s the outfit tho, you a mom.’ Did he need to tweet that to the world? That man can feel however but discuss it in person. Big loser energy," one commented.

In spite of the backlash, Jackson has stood by his comment in another post arguing it relates to his beliefs about family.

"We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn't want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is," Jackson wrote.

"This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case."

Though Jackson referred to Palmer as his 'wife', there is nothing to indicate the pair have tied the knot.

Palmer hasn't responded directly to Jackson's comments, but she obviously - and rightfully - has no regrets over outfit choice as she took to Instagram after the gig to share some snaps.

In fact, the only thing she did regret was her failure to take 'more pictures' because her group was 'running late'.

"I am telling y'all right now, if you haven't seen @usher YOU MUST GO!! HE WAS SO FABULOUS!!" she wrote.

Palmer has previously opened up about her relationship with Jackson during an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show in November 2021.

Speaking about her decision to share snaps of the couple together, she said: "We spend all this time together, and he really is my closest friend, so it just becomes a thing where I'm not gonna hide something that makes me happy."
