Kim Kardashian has sparked concern after sharing the ‘painful’ reality of a psoriasis flareup, saying she’s not been able to figure out what’s ‘triggered’ it.
The SKKN BY KIM founder, 43, had her first flare-up when she was 25, once saying in a blog post on sister Kourtney’s Poosh website that it went away for five years after treatment from a dermatologist, only for it to return when she turned 30.
"Luckily, in my apartment complex at the time, my neighbour was a dermatologist,” she wrote at the time, adding: “I showed it to him, and he said to come into the office and he would give me a shot of cortisone, and then hopefully it would go away (since it was my first big outbreak).

“I did this and my psoriasis completely went away for about five years.”
Over the years, Kim has spoken openly about what it’s like to live with the chronic skin condition, which causes patches of itchy, dry skin – and is something her mum Kris also has.
She’s tried everything from a plant-based diet through to sunbeds to try and control her symptoms, which are often exacerbated through triggers like stress.

In September 2019, she also revealed she’d been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, explaining on the Poosh website: “It’s similar to arthritis that can stem from psoriasis, and it can come and go.
“It’s still painful and scary, but I was happy to have a diagnosis.”
After suffering her latest flare-up this week, Kim took to her Instagram Stories to show fans what she was dealing with in a series of clips.
“Not gonna lie this is painful,” she wrote.

“Not sure what my triggers are. I haven’t changed my diet. I’ve tried everything. Psoriasis sucks.
“Just wanted to share my journey with you guys.”
Zooming in a sore-looking red patch on her leg, she told viewers: “How crazy is my psoriasis right now guys?

“It’s like all up my leg and I don’t know what’s happening but I got to figure this out… this is crazy.”
Responding to the posts on X, one fan said it looked 'very painful', while another added: "Prayers the right doctors the right medication will heal her."
Kim recently came under fire after posting a video tour of her new SKKN BY KIM office, which included a tanning station.
“I’m Kim Kardashian, of course I have a tanning bed - and a red light bed - in my office,” she said as she reclined on the sunbed.

The star ended up defending herself on X, responding to a post linking through to an article titled ‘Please, Kim Kardashian, don’t try to normalize tanning beds’ to explain the health reasons behind the luxury item.
“I have psoriasis and it really helps when it’s bad,” Kim said.
“But I don’t use it too often.”
