Netflix has added a new horror movie to the streaming site but viewers have said they’ll ‘never sleep again’ after watching it.
If isn't a glowing testimonial for a horror movie, then I don't know what is.
Now, I can’t lie, anyone who enjoys watching scary films creep me out slightly. I just don’t understand why people purposely want to be scared.
But you horror fans do exist, so good for you. And if you’re looking for a new one to cosy up to on the sofa (or stay up all night over), then Evil Dead Rise is for you.

The film landed on Netflix today (21 September) following a very successful release in cinemas back in April.
While the scariest thing for me right now is the growing number of celebrities getting divorced (what is going on guys?), this flick actually looks truly terrifying.
Written and directed by Lee Cronin, real horror lovers will be pleased to hear it’s executively produced by the director of the original Evil Dead comedy horror film franchise, Sam Raimi.
The cast includes Morgan Davies, Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan and even features a hidden cameo from the original franchise actor, Bruce Campbell – or like me, you might know him as the coach from Sky High.

Evil Dead Rise follows a family who find a strange book hidden away under their apartment building in Los Angeles, California.
And obviously, things then turn well, evil and gory as a destructive, horrifying demon preys upon them.
The film is certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a decent 84 percent rating on the Tomatometer. It has also received a respectable 76 percent audience score.

The Critics' Consensus reads: “Offering just about everything long-time fans could hope for while still managing to carry the franchise forward, Evil Dead Rise is all kinds of groovy.”
Meanwhile, the Audience Says section reads: “Evil Dead Rise's intense horror and inventive gore help make up for a so-so story that downplays the franchise's signature humour.”
One critic wrote: “Evil Dead Rise packs everything I love about Evil Dead: Grotesque kills blended together with dark humor. I loved every minute of it.”

And one also said: “Evil Dead Rise left me wanting more Surely an awesome time in a lot of ways! specifically the third act which goes HARD, but a lot of the film just didn’t give me that magic feeling that the rest of the franchise has.”
While over on X, a user wrote: “Just watched Evil Dead Rise and can confirm I will never sleep again.”
And others agreed, adding: “Don’t know how I’m going to sleep tonight.”
While one person called it 'the scariest movie I have ever seen'.
