Star of TLC's 1,000-lb Sisters Amy Slaton Halterman was arrested at a zoo in Tennessee yesterday (2 September) and charged with drug possession and child endangerment.
Crockett County Sheriff’s Department sheriffs attended the Tennessee Safari Park after a separate guest was reportedly bitten by a camel.
Once there, officials were drawn to 'suspicious odours' coming from the vehicle of Slaton, as per the sheriff's department.

Slaton split from her estranged husband, Michael Halterman, last year in a tempestuous divorce.
Halterman had asked the court for 'a civil restraining order' that would ensure the two of them had to remain '500 feet from one another at all times' and guarantee them to stay '500 feet from the residence of the other party.'
The relationship was documented on the popular TLC series in which Slaton starred.

She had eloped with Halterman in 2017 before going on to exchange vows in a formal wedding setting in 2019.
Shortly after the birth of their son Glenn Allen in July 2022, the pair split and the divorce was finalised in 2023.
Their other son, Gage, was born in November 2020.

Talking about becoming a mother, Slaton said during a 2023 episode of 1000-lb Sisters: "My heart is full. Being a mom is what I've wanted to do since I was 5 years old and I've always wanted two kids. Our family is finally complete. We can put us in a frame and hang us on the wall now."
She also spoke about her first son, Gage, in the show.
She said: "Looking at Gage, I just see his whole future basically, as he's going off to college.
"It's emotional. You can't really talk about [it] because you just love him so much you don't have words to explain how much you love him."

In the first season of 1000-lb Sisters, which first hit screens in January 2020, Slaton weighed over 400 pounds.
She then underwent gastric bypass surgery, which allowed her to drop 136 pounds, putting her weigh-in at 275 pounds.
Following Slaton's split from Halterman, she told People: "[My mental health was] the worst it’s ever been. And it wasn't just affecting me, it was affecting Gage and Glenn. So it was just rough.”
