A couple have shared their best tip for changing a duvet in around 10 seconds, taking much of the annoyance out of one of the household’s most tedious tasks. You can see how they did it in the video below:
It’s a job that many people dread.

Changing the duvet is just about as awkward as it gets, particularly if you’re doing it right before you go to bed and are already tired.
There’s a lot of faffing around making sure that the large duvet cover is the right way around, finding the corners by trial and error, all while looking like some sort of giant stupid ghost, covered up in fabric.
So, with that in mind, some TikTokers are on hand to share a tip with you that could make the whole thing go much more smoothly, as well as cutting the time it takes down drastically.
For this to work, you’re going to need a few things.

Firstly, you’ll need a duvet cover – that goes without saying.
You’ll also need another willing participant.
In the video – shared by TikTok account @ruesaint – they’ve gone with a boyfriend, but you can use a sibling, a partner, a husband or wife, or even just a person you found off the street.

Provided you don’t mind them coming into your bedroom to help with household chores, anyway.
In the video, they’ve outlined a few handy steps to take.
Step one is to stick the duvet cover over the head of whoever you have got to help.
They’ll have to stand with their arms out while the cover goes over their head.

Step two, get the person inside the cover to grab the corners of the duvet while they are inside.
Finally, the person who isn’t inside the cover has to chuck the duvet cover over their head and let gravity do the rest.
With any luck – and if you’ve done it right – the duvet cover will just fall down, completing the job.
Then, just button it up and you’re done.

It’s as simple as that.
In the comments, many have lauded the couple’s work, with one stating: “Woahhhh like magic.”
However, others have noted that they might be missing one key element to make this work.
“Step one – get a boyfriend,” said one person.
Another said: “I got lost at step one, where do I get one of those?”
Other comments seemed to suggest that plenty of people already know about this technique, as one said: “Brah. Been doing this since ’98.”
Someone else commented: “Y’all just learning this?”
Well, if you are just learning this, you’re welcome.
It’s definitely better than attempting to do it by just diving around the room with the duvet cover over your head.
