1000lb Sisters’ star Amy Slaton and her husband Michael Halterman are set to divorce.
The sad news came after 40-year-old Halterman submitted documents on March 13 in Kentucky, US.
Although there’s been no official statement from the couple, it is thought that the TV personalities have been separated for some time prior to this.
Long-time fans of the series will be shocked as the couple’s wedding had been heavily featured in the first series of the hit TLC show in 2020.

Since then, the couple have welcomed two children; Gage in November 2020 and Glenn in July last year.
The mum-of-two even gushed about her growing family to US Weekly, praising her husband for being so supportive, saying: “My husband Michael, he means the world to me. Me and Michael are newlyweds but we’ve been together four years now.”
She continued, telling the publication: “I can tell him anything and everything. And Michael’s really supportive of me helping Tammy.”

Despite their relationship being a central part of the show, Halterman filed for divorce last week on March 13.
Though the couple have not yet released a statement about their pending divorce, it’s thought that the strain of having two young children impacted their marriage.
At the premiere of the fourth season, Slaton told Us Weekly that they were not planning to have any more children.
“I do not want more kids, my family is complete!” she said, adding: “As a busy mom, I just take care of them, when they sleep that’s when I get a bath or do other things for myself.”

In an episode from the latest series, Slaton also hit back at her husband for not supporting her with parenting responsibilities.
Overwhelmed from looking after two young children, Slaton can be seen visibly breaking down as Halterman continues to eat food from the cook out.
Away from her husband, she told viewers that he ‘wasn’t doing sh*t’ and added that: ‘Sometimes it feels like I got three kids’.

In a revealing moment, Slaton admitted that she was struggling to cope with life as a mum-of-two, saying: “I just feel like how am I going to do this? How am I going to be a mother to two boys and not hurt one of their feelings?”
Shortly after this clip aired, it was reported by the US Sun that the reality star had moved back in with her sister Tammy into a new home in Ohio.
