The man charged with throwing his phone at Bebe Rexha during a live show said he thought it would be ‘funny’.
The pop singer, 33, was entertaining the crowd at Pier17 in New York City during her 'Best F*n Night of My Life' tour on Sunday (18 June).
However, the concert took an awful turn as the ‘I’m Good (Blue)’ singer was preparing to wrap up her set when a mobile phone was thrown through the air and hit Bebe right in the face.

Bebe was then rushed off stage by her team while she clutched her face.
Police have since arrested and charged Nicholas Malvagna, a 27-year-old from New Jersey, with two counts of assault in the three degree; one count of harassment in the second degree; one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree; and one count of attempted assault in the third degree.

“I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny,” he said.
The man was freed without bail at a Monday court hearing and a judge has ordered him to stay away from the pop star.
