1000-lb Sisters star Amy Slaton breaks social media silence after ’suspicious odour’ led to arrest at zoo

1000-lb Sisters star Amy Slaton breaks social media silence after ’suspicious odour’ led to arrest at zoo

TLC star Amy Slaton was arrested by police at a Tennessee safari park in September

US TV star Amy Slaton has this week returned to social media, almost two months after she was arrested at a Tennessee zoo.

Officers on the scene apprehended the TLC favourite - who shot to fame alongside sister Tammy Slaton in 1000-lb Sisters - after noticing a 'suspicious odour' from her car.

Slaton was arrested from the animal park on 2 September, having contacted the police herself to report an injury she'd sustained.

The star was visiting the public park with two children when she claimed to have been bitten by a camel.

The local sheriff's department later told press that, upon reaching the family, they were immediately met with a strong and unusual odour coming from their vehicle.

Upon inspection of the car Slaton had driven to the safari park, she was immediately arrested on charges of illegal possession of schedule I and schedule VI as well as two counts of child endangerment.

The mother-of-two was arrested along with a man named Brian Scott Lovvorn.

The pair were subsequently transported to Crockett County Jail before being seen leaving, having paid a $10,000 bond.

Since then, Slaton has remained out of the headlines - despite social media users' curiosity over the incident.

That is, until she made her long-awaited return to Instagram this week (16 October) by posting a series of photos in a collection.

And though many of her followers hoped she'd address her arrest, the TV star appeared to brush over the incident entirely.

Taking to the photo-sharing app, the 36-year-old shared a carousel of two images, captioning the collection: "2024".

In the burst, her two sons Gage, three, and Glenn, two, could be seen donning Halloween get-ups.

While one snap saw her eldest playing with a toy car on the floor, another saw her youngest munching away on a slice of pizza, wearing a similar pair of spooky pyjamas.

Slaton - who shares her two children with estranged husband, Michael Halterman, from whom she divorced last year - is still yet to publicly address her arrest.

Following the incident, the animal park's owner Claude Conley told press that Slaton's injury is inconsistent with a camel bite.

He claimed: "It was just on top of the arm, and if a camel bit, it would kind of bite down on there."
